The ASBL/NGO Action for Solidarity and Community Development (ASODEC) is a 501(c)(3) non-governmental, apolitical, and non-profit organization.
Faced with the situation of extreme poverty in which our Congolese brothers and sisters live, despite the enormous natural wealth with which our country is endowed, we, members of this organization, decided to organize ourselves to help most disadvantaged populations in the country’s capital city (Kinshasa) and in other provinces of the country.
We therefore gathered for our very first Ordinary General Assembly from June 15 to 20, 2020 from which our organization was born.
The purposes of the Organization, as set forth in the US Articles of Incorporation, are exclusively charitable and educational, within the meaning of section of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or the corresponding provision of any future Federal tax law.
The specific purposes of our Organization, working specifically for underprivileged populations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are the improvement of socio-economic conditions of these populations through sustainable community development at the local level, as well as the development of these populations’ capabilities through education, instruction, and vocational training.
The Organization has all the powers necessary to carry out the purposes as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation and its Bylaws, and all the powers of nonprofit non-stock corporations organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
